Re: Cambridge CD6

dst,

I have also replaced the opamps and I've tried opa 2604 and 2134. Eventually I settled for the 2134 but I can't say if the difference is worth the trouble or if there was any difference at all. I think the opamps are used for a line driver and an output buffer but I'm not sure about this. You can't change the I/U conversion on this player since it is incorporated in the dac using some sort of 5534 (I guess)which is probably one of the players biggest problems. As for other clock modules because I heard some rather discouraging stories about them, not about sound perfomance but about technical problems by the way, I haven't tried that. The usage of oscon's (made by sanyo)can give a lot more improvement from my point of view and is a lot cheaper to.

good luck, JZ
