Hi B. P.,Unless you are getting an exceptionally "bright" sound coming out of your speakers and can't cure it any other way, I would not recommend any absorbent material in the "channel". Remember that an audio signal (as well as AC electricity) is composed of vibrations also and materials like sorbothane will absorb vibrational energy, especially in the higher octaves. So, personally, I would not use such materials because you will "deaden" the sound of your system and rob it of upper octave "air".
If you are getting "bright" sound, it would best be dealt with at the source of the "brightness".
