What you're referring to is not cyrogenics (do a search on the top in the main forum when I raised the topic--where cyrogenics are used for treating musical instruments).
An ordinary freezer, as I assume you're talking about, is about at best -20 degrees. A biological freezer is slightly better being -60 or so. When we're talking about cryogenics, we're talking about liquid nitrogen at -196 degrees. There are a lot different things happening in materials science at -196 than at -20 degrees.
