Rod M made mention in a previous post that in older equipment one of the capacitors can start to fail intermittantly then fail completely. It seems that a lot of the old equipment (70's-80's) has a channel going out or already gone. (My retired Sansui 9090DB is just another example)

Granted, in old SS equipment about anything could fail but are there other common failure points in addition to caps for equipment of this era.
