Thanks-- I have recently become concerned for the welfare of my hearing... I use either an Audio Research D76 with external DC regulation (sorenson Nobatron 800 ma at 600 VDC!!) or a highly tricked out pair of Eico HF60s; w/ 101 db at 1 watt loudspeakers, this really puts the loud in loudspeaker. I gradually turn up the volume as my ears fatigue, and have actually clipped the ARC into my UREIs to the point where the tweeter overload light flashes a fiery red.... I think it's time to go for quality over quantity. Thanks for your suggestions! I have a buddy who has both NOS 1960s Western 300Bs, and a LOT of 1930s and 1940s 211s and 845s... probably be a bit easier to get a pair of graphite plate 845s off him.... and that would give me POWER; I have a 1000 VDC 400 Ma regulator to really slam those big bottles...
