Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I recently purchased an old Heathkit SA-2 integrated amp. The right channel has noticably more hum then the left, with volume control all the way off. So far, I've changed all the caps (except power supply electrolytics). I've changed driver tubes (had an effect, but not enough. Even changed around power tubes. Tried a different rectifier tube. I also, for sonic reasons, bypassed the tone control section with it's pentode tubes (didn't change the hum any). Now I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions?
