I am basis this opinion on the Audible Illusion preamp. I've got some tubes that didn't or no longer work in that unit, which (I've been told) might still be perfectly good in a less demanding circuit. I wish I knew someone in the area with a need for some 6922's, as I'd like to see if this is true. Specifically, I've got mothballed some Tungsrams that got noisy almost immediately in the phono side.In the case of those darkly discolored or "blown" tubes, or those which refuse to hold a bias - yes I ought to throw those away ;)
