Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |

I have this preamp, and just unboxed it. I bought it from another party that said they never plugged it in. So, anyway, it is dead. I took the cover off and where the power cord comes in, it is attached to the row of outlets. One side goes over to the power switch, and the other wire just goes to the top set of switches that are wired for the common. This wire goes nowhere except to the switches. So, where does the unit get its power? Does it come from the multiple plug that plugs into an amp? Are schematics available? I haven't worked on anything electronic for 25 years now, but I can still read a schematic and can solder, etc. This is my first tube preamp and could use some dynaco help. I can take pics and email if it will help any. Thanks.
