I've learned that microphonics can manifest itself in a number of ways. One of them can be hardness in the upper end. IME this hardness can also be accompanied by sibilance. Might want to look into dampenng the tubes, chassis and/or other internal components. Isolation methods may also be employed to decouple the amp from its' shelf. These suggestions can often be implemented for very little money.
