Yes, 6X4 is the same as 6X4WA.Best? I suppose that's a matter of opinion.
D-getter Tungsols are my favorite by far. 1950's D-getter Raytheons are also excellent.
Mullard D-getter and Philips Miniwatt D-getter are the best of the Euros, sweet tubes, and 1950's Brimar black glass are also very good.
The Genelex U707 is a fine tube, but for the price, it's not worth it, as the tubes mentioned above are equal or better. GEC U78 is also good, again though, a common Tungsol is better.
Overall, I would say look for the Tungsol.
