Of cause they can't store goods noone ever gonna be interested in*, but I'm sure they have such a good market knowledge they store things in demand or probable future demand (if fast stock turnower was a major key they wouldn't be in the tube bussines to start with).
This is a problem everywhere - one can't keep everything.
Remember the cloths you had han threw away that youngsters would kill for today...I don't think people don't care.
