2 HF-86's? Do you have them wired as Mono Blocks?My schematic of the HF-86 would discribe a typical PP EL-84 Stereo Power Amp.
I have an HF-81 Integrated Amp that is almost identical in the design of the ouput. Have you tried the various taps on the output transfomrers? They range from 4 to 32 Ohm.
My HF-81 was a sad case in disrepair and purchased for the Iron, which I hope to fashion into something like the HF-86, with an additional 12AU7 input stage and a pot.
