I had a MK III version of the 5. Very nice....quiet and reliable with an adjustable gain feature. Pretty good phono section to boot. Sounded its best with NOS 6DJ8s ......Sovtek 6922s did not cut it in this pre. Gave everything a "solid state" glare. The real bonus is that Music Reference is still around for support if needed.
