In an effort to better understnd this stuff, could you expand on a comment you made in a thread further down (p-p vs single ended)>>PP will give you more power, and better bass.
Kurts response>> I agree, for tubes at least with zero NFB, without even trying hard. As a result, you get better bass control since the power supply modulations are 100 times less on average than a similarly built SE.
Kurt, I thought one of the great advantages of SET was that it did NOT yank on the power supply as much as push-pull designs.Or is the power supply modulations you are speaking of due to some other phenomenon?
How does a SET amplifier modulate the power supply so such a greater degree (~ 100 times greater) than a similarly built push - pull design? Thanks Kurt.Best Regards
