RCA ECC88 Origin?

I recently posted a query about Telefunken E88CC's made by Mullard (see that thread). Since I was able to get much useful information as a result, I thought I'd try again. When I went to roll the tube that came with my ARC-2B with one of the Telfunken's I recently purchased, I was surprised to find that the RCA ECC88 was made in Great Britain (I was expecting Germany). Can someone enlighten me as to the manufacturer of this tube: In orange/red type it says "RCA 7639". On the reverse, in white type it reads "6DJ8 ECC88 Made in Great Britain". Finally there is the numeric code, "GAO 8603", and between the pins on the bottom there is the raised letter 'R'. It has a similar dimpled tophat 'getter' as the Mullard/Telefunken E88CC's (picture link on previous thread), but the supports are different (on the RCA there are two wide supports coming up from either side underneath). The pins are not gold. Any clue as to the manufacturer of this tube?

Thanks in advance for any input!
