I just purchased the prototype Ram 301 from Response Audio. Since I live in Nashville, I took the Ram to Michael Green Designs shop to audition the MGD Monitor Fives. I used one of their semi-tuned rooms to audition the Ram 301 with MGD monitor 5s clamped into a MDF rack with an Arcam CD player. After a 30 minute warm-up period the Ram opened nicely. I auditioned with several music types (jazz, blues, classical, rock) and I was very pleased with Ram 301/MGD monitor 5 combination. The bass response was incredible! Midrange and treble were very good for this initial listen. This little Ram seems much more powerful one might expect. So far, I am impressed with the Ram 301.
