When I was thinking about buying an ST-70 from a local guy in my area, I made him open up the amp (this took some pestering) so I could ttake a look. Even though I'm pretty damn good with a soldering iron, I was a ppalled at the amount of "repairs" to the soldering job that I would have to do (not to mention the same things were "wrong" with this one that you mentioned!), for the price he asked.
Needless to say, I passed on it.
