Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I've had this old Mac for 25 years (I'm the 2nd owner) and it hasn't even been fired up for about ten years. I've set up a 2-channel listening room and want to begin using it again. Unfortunately, three of the tubes were damaged in shipping (it was in long-term storage while I was overseas) so I'm considering re-tubing the amp again. I don't want to spend too much, since I'm not even sure the amp still works (if it doesn't it may sit for another year until I have the motivation to repair it). Also, I'm clueless about electronics so if it's anything more than tube swapping it will have to go to a repair shop. Any suggestions and/or advice? Here's the tube list: 4-6L6GC/7027A output, 3-12AX7, 2-12AU7, 2-12BH7Other components:
Rotel RDD 980
Adcom GDA 700
Morrison ELAD (also have McIntosh C-22)
Pass Labs Aleph 3
B&W 801 Matrix Series II
