Sounds like you're new to this. Get a copy of thr origional manual. It explains a lot and will give you all the voltages and test points. You might try ebay. It also gives you some basic troubleshooting and component testing imformation.
BTW the thing inside the case that looks like a transformer is a power supply choke. Good luck and have fun.
