I have a Fisher 500 also in daily use. The 7591s are original Fisher branded and so old and worn that getter is nearly gone and copper laminate in plates has begun to flow out from betw the steel. Still sounds pretty good. I noticed an unbalance too. Root cause of my unbalance turned out to be a volume control with remarkably poor channel to channel tracking. I just use the balance control and live with the poor quality volume control. Why??? Because the original volume control is tapped for the "loudness" function and you can't easily find good quality 500K tapped volume controls anymore. I use the volume function frequently...the horror...the horror.EH 7591s won't fit my 500C w/o the glass envelopes touching: an undesirable condition. You might have the same problem with your receiver. Bottom line: make sure that the problem with balance is really in the 7591s before trying to replace them.
