I don't typically listen very loud, but do on occasion. Usually so that one could hold a conversation with someone in another chair without having to raise their voice much. I know that is not a very technical description - sorry. The room is fairly long and narrow, about 12' by 24', with the back mostly open to the kitchen, so the 24' gets extended behind into the kitchen. I have never figured out what is better - setting up speakers to point lengthwise (better extension out to the kitchen - nice when cooking, less reflection behind you when sitting and listening), or point horizontally - more open for wide soundstage, but reflects off what becomes the back wall only 12' away (minus setback from speaker to wall). My speakers before were crappy enough to warrant little concern. Now I will just try both out.
Thank you,
- Kevin
