My recollection (as a former SE-40 SE owner) is that the SE-40 is a single-ended design, but runs in pentode (with 3 6L6GC's per side). But for TG, you might find an answer to your question on the golden tube audio forum on yahoo, link below -- can't vouch for the forum but remember reading about it some time ago and looked it up.
