I have not listened to tons of Tube amps but the Jolida 202a with the relatively ineficient B&W CDM 1NTs play loud and with exceptionally tight deep bass.
I have yet to hear these integrateds have notably sluggish bass response.
Was this a problem in the 50s and people who don't listen to tubes simply remember those problems. My ASL MG HEAD DT does not have a ton of Bass depth but it's certainly fast enough.
SS People need to hear these newer amps again I think. The pricing on these tube amps seem to be slightly lower than the likes of Musical Fidelity, Arcam and NAD etc - and while those are formidable SS amps seem to lack a lot in comparison to entry integrateds from ASL and Jolida and probably a whole pile of others I have not heard like Passion etc.
