I do want to second Clicker's comments on the effects of standard BP PSU. I suppose I am the second happy owner of the BP PSU in the US. I have been thinking about upgrading my Audio Innovations 800 MK III with the PSU for some time now, so it just all happened that Clicker and I ordered the units around the same time. I had only a few days of listening since I installed it. It is nothing short of a transformation for my AI 800. It is like getting a totally new amp, whci I was expecting due to many good reviews and advice from people who's used the PSU on the AI amps. There are three things that I noticed right away just for some short listening. I will need more time and focus to really evaluate the details. but these are three signicant changes. 1. now I can listen to my marantz cd player with more enjoyment and pleasure on just any old regular mediocre recordings. The edginess and thinness of the cd player sound is now less apparent. 2. I have noticed the voices in some of my opera singing music is alot smoother and natural. The highs are more real and smooth. I think the PSU enhanced the naturalness of the music. I do agree with Clicker that the bass is not so overwhelmingly tight, but firm and defined 3. The AI 800 III did not seem to have enough kick for my ProAc speakers, but now the dynamics are definitely there, maybe the punch is alot more than I am used to, and the most obvious observation is the music clarity. It used to be a bit fuzzy and scattered, now it is more focus and clear. Well, before, I thought I liked my AI 800, but that was before I found out about the BP PSU. I don't know how it really compares with the other better or more expense amps, cause I haven't audition many of them. but, I'm content and I think it will be a long time before I will think of upgrading again or maybe never as long as it still works. The BP PSU sure made some amazing improvements to my AI 800 III.
