It is better to have the tube matched section to section. Look at the schematic, each half of the tube works on its own side of the push pull output stage, this is where equal performance is critical. It is less important for left to right channel. Be sure they are properly matched, with a curve tracer, to be sure that performance is really matched across the operating range. A single point current match may not be adequate unless the rest happens to match too. I've had good luck just dropping in single point match tubes in my 275 so you have to ask yourself, "am I feeling Rich today?", well are you?
