>>Does your ST-150 run very hot?<<It's not too bad. That was one of my big worries when I was thinking about buying it. With most Class AB solid state amps, they seem to idle coolly, but then get warmer the louder you play them. Tube amps ( at least my experience with the ST-150) is that the temp remains fairly constant. The idle temp is about as warm as when playing music. It will get somewhat hotter when pushed hard. It does need to be well ventilated, though. I wouldn't put it in a closed rack. Mine's on a little platform a few inches off the floor, with nothing else around it. I'd love to have even more power, but aside from just being so expensive, having more output tubes probably would be too hot to live with.
I looked at the Paradigm website, and it looks like the Studio 100s have very similar specs to the PSBs (and the Energys, for that matter). I wouldn't write them off as being unsuitable for the ST-150 without actually trying them out together. The only possible difference between all three speakers might be in the impedance curve, especially in the bass region.
I'd like to hear the Energys too, but I think we're in the same boat. I don't have a dealer near me, either.
