Just because the tube socket has more holes than the tube has pins, does not mean that some were removed or missing.It only means that your tube only uses certain pins and therefore certain holes. Those sockets are made to be used with various type tubes with different pin settings. So you cann't just plug in any other type tube just because it has more pins and will fit.
