Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
i have several 6DJ8 series tubes. Some are current production ones like Ei Elites, JJ 6922 and Sovtek 6922. I also have some NOS like Russian 6H23pi (2 types), Philips 6DJ8 (made in Holland), Mullard 6DJ8 and Philips JAN 6922.What I need to know is:
How do I properly compare them? I tried them last night and it seems most of them sounds the same with the exception of the Philips 6DJ8. It may be that they indeed sounds the same or my methodology is incorrect.
I'm using a metallica CD, classical music and a jazz CD for comparison.
Most of the tubes have 40+ hours burned in time and the Philips 6DJ8 was bought as used.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Jayel
