I recommend using only RAM 6BQ7 tubes sourced from Roger for the input tubes in this amp, since the quality of this tube is crucial. Apparently, RAM tests many NOS tubes to find those strong enough to handle being driven as hard as these are in this design. I didn't feel the cost savings (NOS 6BQ7's can be had for <$5ea) was worth the risk of toasting my amplifier.
