Ion 2 is made by Loth X, a speaker maker in Singapore. The web site is lothx.com but has been under construction. The ion 2 is very fast. It is good for small ensemble classical music, light jazz and vocals. Bass is non-existent, characteristic of most small horns. Therefore, the overall sound has no body. I anticipate that even with the Zen/Tjoeb combination, I will feel the need for more bass.
I also anticipate that finding the appropriate subwoofer will pose a problem. It would have to be a really fast sub. Also, since the horns do not have bass to start with, it will be more difficult to achieve a seemless crossover between the sub and the horns.
I do have the DH lab interconnect which I am currently using in the Audio Analogue-Magneplanar setup. I compared them with the JPS IC and preferred the warmth of DH lab. I appreciate the suggestion.
I can hardly wait for the Zen and Tjoeb.
