If you want to try SET but not sure if your speakers can make music with 5 watts in triode, flick the switch to pentode and it will give 15 wpc, all class A. I am talking about the ASL MGSI 15DTS which I just got. It sounds very clean at 5 watts triode with Triangle Titus 90 db speakers, the level knob at 12 to 2 o'clock, enough to fill a moderate size bedroom. They have increased the price to U$748, put a bias meter in front and bias adjustments can be made beside the output tubes. With stock tubes, sound was good, huge soundstage (Triangle Titus 8/9 feet apart). I changed the little tubes in front with Mullard CV 4004 (NOS?) and sound is even better.
