What do you want? I drive less efficient speakers with smaller amps than the st70, or the st70 strapped for triode (about 12 watts per channel) with great results. I even drive magneplanar mgIIIas with low power amps, which usually sound better within their constraints than higher power ones.Currently listening to Alon IIs (87db) with pilot sa232 (el84 push pull heaven). Exquisite.
Epos es11s are 87 db. Great results. MGIIIa's (86db) with van alstine mod st70 triode strapped. Unreal. Not terribly loud. Just amazing sounding.
