Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I'm hoping a few of you can help me with this. I replaced the four EL 34s in my CJ CAV 50 last night with new tubes I'd purchased from Kevin Deal. Turned the whole thing off, etc. when I turned it back on, one of the tubes made a loud pop. I was unable to bias it so I ssumed it was blown. The other tubes were fine, all biasable. Turned the whole thing off, replaced that tube, when I turned it back on, the tube next to the one I replaced goes bright blue and makes some some bad electronic noises. both fuse lights go on before I manage to turn it off, so the fuses to both channels are presumably blown. Have to replace both before I turn the unit on again, but anyone have any suggestions on what's happening here. This is my first experience with this kind of behaviour.
