I actually haven't had a chance to listen to my P1s hooked up to my parents' ARC.I was rereading your comments comparing the P1s and M3Tis. I think yuo might be a little bit of top-end smoothness nut. For me, I like my top end as agressive as possible without being fatiguing. In the P1s the Focal tweeter is rather agressive and will never be considered an artificial sweetener. But, it's has never once sounded downright harsh. The Axiom tweeter on the other hand is very very smooth. It's only misstep occurs every once in a while where the tweeter has a slight metallic ring. My only fear is that while the ARC will definitely smooth out the top end of the Focal tweeter, it will probably do so at the expense of detail and soundstage. The Focal tweeter in the P1 is an odd device. Usually tweeters fall into one of three camps: smooth and soft, harsh and detailed, detailed and smooth (very expensive). The Focals provides details and soundstaging...and they certainly lack smooth warmth...but they don't harsh and grating. They also manage to get a number of subtleties right. The P1s are certainly bright but they don't sound like typical bright speakers.
I know you want warmth...the question is just how much. My advice would be to try out an ARC with your Axioms...if it's too warm and soft think about the P1s.
Stephen
