Hi there,by my experience, the description Chris S. gave about the old KT100
is spot on - they were extremely unreliable, and mechanically so
weak that any impact or heavy shaking would slightly realign the
innards, and bend the characteristic curves - 'want to retune your
amp, knock them with a finger'.The later ones were like VA KT88s with slightly taller envelope and
thicker glass. Not too inspiring either, but quite durable even under
abuse in regulated PSUs - thats what I use them for.Regards,
