yea, i did the mk3 boards... similar and instructions were laid out fairly well for me (not very experienced with electronics/theory, just decent with soldering, a DMM and deductive TS). I didn't have the balls to fire the amps up with the original caps as they were in storage for 20 yrs, so I can't tell you about difference in sound and it wouldn't apply to a ST70 anyway! I did use the original driver boards first and then built and installed Ned's Mk3 driver boards... THAT was an improvement across the board, but I don't know whether to attrib. that to the circuitry or just getting rid of the old 6AN8 driver(s) tubes and Caps/resisters! but I like it much better.If you go for it, definitely get the parts and all from Ned, you can't source them any cheaper anyway. If you haven't done much soldering before, practice alot before attempting PC board stuffing or consider hiring a tech to do it - otherwise, if you are semi-experienced with wiring/soldering, etc., it couldn't be much easier.
