The 6V6 and EL84 are very different. The 6V6 is octal based, while the EL84 is 9 pin miniature. The 2 types are not electrically equivalent too. The U.S. designation for the EL84 is 6BQ5. The 7 pin miniature 6AQ5 is electrically equivalent to the 6V6.
