Well, that's useful information, thanks. I used two different voltmeters: a Fluke benchtop and a cheap handheld, so the numbers are good. Measuring right at the pins (4 and 5) I have 5.6V with 4 tubes, 6.5V with two. Subbed the original tubes back into the phono stage in place of the Golden Dragons I had in there, based on your comment that the supply is unregulated and thinking perhaps the Chinese items draw too much heater current: no real difference. Line voltage here at the time was 118. I suppose I could have a rectifier diode gone in the heater supply....Ian
