Just curious, but why are you looking at spending $4000+ on amplification to drive Polk and Vandersteen? I've just read some of your other posts, and it seems to me you've got the cart before the horse. The two types of amps you seem so interested in (SET and OTL) place some requirements on the partnering speakers that cannot be ignored. You'd be better off instead looking at upgrading your speakers first, and then looking for a suitable amp. After all, later on you may end up becoming enamored of a 4 ohm speaker (w/ 2.8 ohm dips), which the Atma's won't like very much at all.
