The only mod I know of is to change the coupling caps to something of higher quality. I have not done it though.It is also my understandiung that an amplifier that uses the 6BM8 in single ended mode would only be able to push about 1 watt (Svetlana has such an amp design on their site). I suppose you could wire the pentodes in triode mode with not too much trouble, but I have not tried that either....
