Mk.IV's sound very much like the ST-70. After all, these are nothing more than mono versions of the ST-70 with the exact same circuit & output transformer. Well, there is one difference. Voltages tend to be slightly higher, giving a little more oomph & crispness to the sound, and because they are monoblocs they image a little better.
They also pop their power transformers in their old age, unlike the ST-70...
