I have Maggie 1.6's with VTL2.5 preamp and a Bryston 3B power amp. I have tried two new VTL preamps and each loses midrange dynamics after about 40 hours burn-in. Does anyone have similar experiences or suggestions on replacing the standard 12AU7 and 12AT7 tubes (I have been told by the dealer that VTL changed their tubes several months ago). VTL2.5 tubes are Vision Research 12AU7A and JAN 12AT7WC PhilipsECG. I would appreciate any comments on the quality of these tubes.
