Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Fellow inmates,I was given an old Sherwood S-5000 int. tube amp recently. It's been in storage for some time and in immaculate condition. All the tubes appear to be orig. (or at least old replacements, all RCA red labels). The 5AR4 rect. tube is definately dead, glass envelope was cracked around the base. I would like to at least get this old beauty working to see if it's worth putting any $$$ into. Recommendation as to the best/safest way to power it back up so it can be checked out? TIA.
