I am currently using a pair of JBL S310's (10-inch, 3-ways)speakers. Yes , the lack of bass "tightness" is a problem with the speaker interface, but it has been a problem with every one of the 4 different pairs of speakers that I have used with the amp, so I can't blame the speakers.
An engineer at JBL suggested that I put a 30 ohm resistor across the woofer terminals to present a different, more stable load to the amp on the low frequencies. Does this seem to you like a step in the right direction?
