I'm no expert, even so I'd suggest that virtually *any* valve amp
will give you the benefits you mention!If you end up with something that's not quite to your taste, most
likely it can be 'tuned' to give the sound you want with nothing
more than a change of valves.I had a good Naim pre-power combo - your Aura won't be massively
different from that as they are both decent amps with a more
'civilised' sound than many solid state amps. Anyway, when I changed
to a worthy but modest EL34 push-pull amp, I got a *massive* upgrade.
It did all the things you mention, plus extra detail and resolution
at the same time as being smoother; but above all, more music and
emotion.Just make sure you get a good match to your speakers, in a way that
suits your musical taste.
