To the best of my knowledge (and I have some inside information) Aspen did make 6L6s and one small signal tube. He out-sourced the rest from all over.
A friend of mine (a very well off, connected friend of mine) called me to ask my opinion about buying the tooling that made those 6L6s and going into business. This was before Fender got involved.
