Could have been. I've always read that the 6N23P was the most rugged of the 6922/6DJ8 family. Many had problems as the Modulus 3 seemed to run tubes rather hot. The average 6922 only lasted a short time, hence many switched to the more rugged 6N23P. This of course is just what I've read over the years, no direct experience myself.
