Finger prints look ugly, but vacuum tubes used in audio amps quite simply don't get hot enough for the finger oils to be to be an operational issue. You have to look no further than typical modes of failure to understand this is true .. it is almost always a slow deterioration of cathode emission which occurs after thousands of hours of use. Totally unrelated to the glass envelope.
