The 'tip' of the tube is a relatively strong/thick area, so a clean break in the absence of other damage should be fine.

Are you withholding critical information? Are cracks/fractures visible below the severed tip?
If so, the vigilance others have recommended would be wise, or maybe toss it if you think a catastrophic tube failure would have downstream consequences that you would like to avoid.
