If the amp has problems the right way to diagnose it is to
check it's "basline" ( if bias correct adjusted etc)
Then continue with analyzing the amps performance , or even
trying to analyze all parts of the audio chain.

Changing compinents at random will only get random results.
( JJ KT88 is btw an excellenbt tube, but, as any tube it has a
limited lifetime. 4-5000h is the expected lifetime. How long have
they been in service ?)
